🌿🎨 Our Week 2 artists took a walk on the wild side in Jungle Dreams: Painting Like Rousseau! Inspired by the lush, imaginative worlds of Henri Rousseau, students created vibrant jungle scenes filled with color, creativity, and adventure.

This year, our young artists also had an extra-special opportunity to contribute to the excitement of the Great Texas Balloon Race by creating a painted piece celebrating this beloved community tradition.

We hope everyone enjoyed an amazing weekend at the Great Texas Balloon Race, and we’re already looking forward to next year's milestone 50th celebration! 🎈✨

The Great Texas Balloon Race is taking flight this weekend! 🎈

As Longview fills with color in the sky, we're spotlighting Bill Bussey (150b) by O. Rufus Lovett. Featuring one of the familiar faces behind the beloved balloon race tradition, this portrait celebrates the people who help make East Texas such a vibrant community.

What stories are missing from the way we tell America’s history?

*Native Perspectives: America 250* brings together contemporary Native artists from across the South, offering powerful reflections on identity, culture, resilience, and connection to place. Through painting, pottery, beadwork, basketry, and mixed media, these artists share perspectives that are both deeply rooted and undeniably contemporary.
