TBT: Here's a look back at the former The State Theater marquee in Loris on Oct. 15, 1986. The movie theater opened in the 1930s and closed in the late 1960s, playing host to such films as "Gone With the Wind" and "The Wizard of Oz." What is your favorite memory of a movie theater?

On behalf of the Loris community and the Loris Historical Society, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to Senator Williams for the generous $100,000 contribution towards restoring the State Theater’s roof. This historic building holds so much of our town’s spirit and memories, and thanks to your support, it is one step closer to a brighter future. Your commitment to preserving our heritage and investing in our city’s legacy means so much to all of us in Loris. We’re excited to see this beloved landmark come back to life and continue to be a place for our community to gather and celebrate. Thank you, Senator Williams, for helping us bring this vision closer to reality!
