The Lorton Prison Museum will host cast members from the Tony Award Winning Suffs Musical at the Workhouse Arts Center on Thursday, June 18 (NOON) as a special occurrence of our 𝘓𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘵 𝘓𝘶𝘯𝘤𝘩 𝘚𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘴!

We'll still have table seating - so bring your lunch (or stop at Bunnyman Brewing Lorton and pick something up) and prepare to join us 𝗼𝘂𝘁𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲 under the tent for this once-in-a-lifetime event!
Broadway at The National will host a run of the musical from June 16-23 this summer!

Suffs Musical, the 2024 Broadway musical will air on PBS‘ Great Performances on May 8. Show creator Shaina Taub won two Tony Awards for Shaina Taub‘s book and score. The recorded performance features the original Broadway cast. It was filmed in December 2024, at the Music Box Theatre.

Curious about all of the seemingly abandoned buildings on the Workhouse campus? Wonder no more. Museum Coordinator Jay Loy leads a campus walking tour and explores our history as a prison site. The tour 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗲𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗟𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗼𝗻 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝗠𝘂𝘀𝗲𝘂𝗺, and participants are invited to view the museum’s exhibitions following the tour – which is open for extended hours during the Workhouse Arts Center's Second Saturday Open House & Art Walk.

$10/person ($5/youth 12 and under)
