Georgesse is stepping back in time as she contemplates and prepares for her feature show.  Georgesse deeply resonates with the whisper of Serenity. She is “Walking toward Serenity.” This is the theme and title of her feature show at Viewpoints Gallery in July. Walk with Georgesse as she shares her sketches and process from previous workshops in Italy and moments of contemplation along the Central Coast of California.

Like a lost explorer, James Ong ventures into the great unknown without a map, with only his intuition and experience to guide him. What he seeks is to create thought-provoking, memorable experiences through his art and design. 

Painting is James’s meditation. His paintings depict imaginary places, things, or memories. He is drawn towards Eastern thinking and aesthetics, especially Zen Buddhism and Japanese art and design where his imagination can wander and play without constraint. 

As an ex-Engineer, James attended art school focusing on toy design. He is a self-taught painter, learning through books, videos, and experimentation. 

When not making art, James likes to read and think deep thoughts about art, design, and life.

Julia had a successful painting trip to the 2nd Mariposa Plein Air in the Sierras, close to Yosemite. Her painting of granite outcroppings won an Honorable Mention and has a new home. There were chances to paint local farms and old barns. She also did a painting of her host’s kitty as a thank you for their hospitality.
