Mon Dieu Projects

Mon Dieu Projects Cutting-edge contemporary art gallery featuring emerging and established artists in DTLA And Korean BBQ.

A native Angeleno collector and a Korean Montreal-based art dealer walk into a bar and ask, “What if we started a gallery?” LA-based writer Spencer Walker has been a client and close friend of Juno Youn of Galerie Youn for a decade. They share a passion for emerging and established artists with distinct POVs. Now, they are sharing their idiosyncratic multilingual mashup of style, culture, and art

in LA with Mon Dieu Projects at Mohilef Studios. “Mon Dieu”, the French expression of surprise, “My god!”, is the reaction the curators hope to inspire. It also represents Galerie Youn’s Montreal roots with its roster of eccentric artists, who are thrilled for their West Coast debut. Mon Dieu Projects aims to bring some irreverence to the LA art world with its provocative curatorial choices.

Mon Dieu Projects presents Jeff Nachtigall and his work, ‘Crash Landing 2.’ Jeff examines cultural narratives that permeate the contemporary zeitgeist with playful, yet subversive messages that mirror and critique our times. His large-scale paintings, inspired in part by a traumatic brain injury, are created on the ground with layers of diluted pigments.

Come visit Mon Dieu Projects and witness the intricate details of Jeff’s painting.

Series WONDERMENT
Staring face up into the sky, experiencing the Aurora Borealis, the feeling of wonderment and smallness can be overwhelming.
In today's society, we are told that each individual is special, that each person is someone. We're bombarded by self-care and wellness remedies.

On a life-long dream to visit the Northwest Territories, Eva Blue went to meet one of the world’s great environmental art exhibits: the Aurora Borealis. Being a city dweller her whole life, she was overcome by the wonderment of this natural phenomenon. Lying face up and breathing in the cold sky, she was confronted by feelings of smallness and insignificance while witnessing the overwhelming manifestation of the Aurora Borealis. But she was also deeply inspired. Her images convey this experience of wonderment.
