We asked Valerie to choose some of her favorite artworks to arrive last month. Here is what she chose and why.

"I keep coming back to this mix of clean geometry and loose, spontaneous details that emphasize the artist's hand. Crisp shapes give the eye something to hold onto, then the color takes over with those little unexpected moments that make a piece feel alive. The palettes are doing a lot too: soft neutrals and airy blues, hits of lavender and warm sand, plus a few bolder notes that pull everything into focus."

Featuring artworks by Ricky Hunt, Krista Reuter, Jason DeMeo, Shiri Phillips, Denna Erickson, and Amber Goldhammer

If you’re local, stop in soon and see them in person. If you’re not, message us and we’ll send photos and details.

Fresh abstract works, vibrant color, and a new month bringing a whole new mood to the gallery.

As seen around the gallery, artworks by new artist Jane Harington.

Jane Harington is a Saskatoon-based painter known for expressive oil paintings that explore the emotional resonance of landscape, florals, and place. Her international upbringing and later move to Canada inform her relationship to the Saskatchewan landscape, giving her paintings a layered sense of memory, distance, belonging, and longing. Working primarily in oils, Harington paints both en plein air and in the studio, drawing from direct observation, images, memory, prairie terrain, tangled brush, cut flowers, and large bouquets of blooms. Her paintings are recognized for their loose, gestural brushwork, thick paint application, energetic mark-making, and bold color. She approaches the natural world through sensation as much as representation, allowing the subject to open into mood, movement, and emotional association.

Opening the gallery one light at a time.

There’s something special about those first quiet moments before the day begins. The rooms are still, the artworks are waiting, and each light brings the space back to life.

Come visit us at Artspace Warehouse and see what’s shining today.

Get a better look at our current group exhibition, Place in Translation. Swipe to walk through our special exhibition room.

This group exhibition brings together artists whose paintings approach landscape through highly individual visual sensibilities. Across the works on view, landscape serves as a flexible ground for varied formal decisions, with each artist arriving at a distinct relationship to color, structure, surface, and spatial construction. The resulting paintings are distinct in mood and ex*****on, showing how a shared subject can open onto very different pictorial languages.

On view until June 5th.

Taking in the booth views from before opening night last night. We are so happy to be back in Texas, where the warm welcomes are unmatched by nothing other than the 90 degree heat. Affordable art fairs are really our jam so we are happy to be the featured gallery at the entrance of the fair. If you are in Austin, TX this weekend, stop by our booth A4 to say hi and soak up the great art.

Join us as we welcome our new exhibit, Place in Translation.

Featuring works by Amber Young, Dana Cowie, Katharina Husslein, Maria C. Bernhardsson, and Elisabeth Grace.

This exhibit brings together artists who each approach landscape in their own way. Some works focus on color and atmosphere, others on structure, texture, or a more emotional sense of place. Together, the exhibition shows how landscapes can hold memory, feeling, and personal perspective.

Swing by and see for yourself.
