Since the late 1970s, Pani Daria Chaikovsky

began building the museum’s collection. And it holds true treasures.

Today, we’re highlighting its music archive : rare recordings that can hardly be found anywhere outside this collection. It includes works by Dmytro Hnatyuk, Ukrainian bandurist ensembles, traditional folk songs, and legendary recordings, including those of Kvitka Cisyk.

It is extremely difficult to find such a collection today. However, CDs and cassettes from it are still available. And while rare recordings on eBay are being sold for hundreds of dollars, at the Ukrainian Art Center they can be purchased at very accessible prices , with all proceeds going to charity.

We invite you every Saturday from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM, or by appointment.

At the Art Center, there is a unique opportunity to purchase vinyl records preserved by the Ukrainian diaspora during the Soviet occupation — a time when Ukrainian music was difficult to distribute and people were harshly punished for preserving and sharing Ukrainian songs and culture.

The collection includes truly rare pieces, featuring both traditional Ukrainian music and recordings by bands formed within the diaspora.

Everyone is warmly welcome.

This wonderful collection was donated to the Ukrainian Art Center by Karen Sirsky-Martin who unfortunately passed a short time after. We thank the family for the collection of music tapes, videos and interesting Ukrainian books. Sincere condolences to the children and family.
