Opening on Friday, October 30th, Jeffrey Deitch and Pace Gallery will present 𝘜𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘥 𝘑𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘯𝘦𝘺, an exhibition bringing together historical and recent works by Kiki Smith. The exhibition will be on view at Deitch’s Los Angeles gallery at 925 N. Orange Drive from October 30, 2026, through January 23, 2027.

Describing his first encounters with the artist, Pace founder Arne Glimcher says: “Having represented Tony Smith for many years, I met Kiki as a young woman assisting her father in the construction of the models for his works. Little did I realize then that she would become so influential an artist, at the forefront of a new movement expressing identity and the temporal nature of life through an investigation of the body and its internal and external parts.”

Marking Smith’s first solo show in the city in thirty years, the exhibition will provide an overview of her rigorous, provocative, and poetic practice.

Some exciting artist news! Opening on October 16th, the Long Beach Museum of Art ( Long Beach Museum of Art ) presents a focused selection of works by 𝓜𝓪𝓻𝓲𝓸 𝓐𝔂𝓪𝓵𝓪 and 𝓐𝓵𝓯𝓸𝓷𝓼𝓸 𝓖𝓸𝓷𝔃𝓪𝓵𝓮𝔃, 𝓙𝓻.

Alfonso Gonzalez Jr. ( Alfonso Gonzalez Jr. ) and Mario Ayala ( lostbros ) have been neighbors working in the same Los Angeles studio building for six years. While their practices overlap at times, they more often evolve in parallel. Both artists can encounter the same image or place and subject it to different processes of selection, composition, material, and scale. The exhibition raises important questions about art history by featuring works selected by Gonzalez and Ayala from the museum’s permanent collection. These selections create connections across generations by highlighting renowned pieces and surprising relationships, treating the collection as a dynamic archive rather than just a chronological timeline. This approach can prompt questions about fragmentation, representation, surface, and how images are created, even across different times and without direct influence.

Their new exhibition at the museum showcases works from 2020 to 2026.

𝓐𝓵𝓯𝓸𝓷𝓼𝓸 𝓖𝓸𝓷𝔃𝓪𝓵𝓮𝔃, 𝓙𝓻. and 𝓜𝓪𝓻𝓲𝓸 𝓐𝔂𝓪𝓵𝓪 both participated in our award winning 2024 group exhibition 𝔸𝕥 𝕥𝕙𝕖 𝔼𝕕𝕘𝕖 𝕠𝕗 𝕥𝕙𝕖 𝕊𝕦𝕟 and have had solo exhibitions at our New York galleries.

For 𝕄𝕦ñ𝕖𝕔𝕒𝕤 𝕕𝕖 𝕥𝕣𝕒𝕟𝕤𝕞𝕚𝕤𝕚ó𝕟, Eddie R. Aparicio’s 2024 commission for ℙ𝕣𝕠𝕤𝕡𝕖𝕔𝕥.𝟞 in New Orleans, he turned electrical transmission towers into dolls dressed in family clothing, arranged like the power lines that cut through North Hollywood neighborhoods. Prospect.6 closed in early February 2025, just weeks after a decomissioned electrical tower sparked the Eaton Fire that tore through Altadena, destroying Eddie’s Los Angeles home, along with more than 9,000 other structures.

Now on view at our 18 Wooster Street gallery, Muñecas de transmisión (Orange) (2024) incorporates anamorphic paintings featuring pop culture references and the names of plant nurseries in West Hollywood.

Seed pods from the ceiba tree, 𝓸𝓷𝓮 𝓸𝓯 𝓽𝓱𝓮 𝓶𝓸𝓼𝓽 𝓼𝓪𝓬𝓻𝓮𝓭 𝓽𝓻𝓮𝓮𝓼 𝓲𝓷 𝓒𝓮𝓷𝓽𝓻𝓪𝓵 𝓐𝓶𝓮𝓻𝓲𝓬𝓪, are traditionally used as a downy filling. The fibers become a material for soft sculpture, countering the weight of the work’s subject matter.

Come visit Muñecas de transmisión (Orange) (2024) as part of 𝐸𝒹𝒹𝒾𝑒 𝑅. 𝒜𝓅𝒶𝓇𝒾𝒸𝒾𝑜’𝓈 ( Eddie R. Aparicio ) solo exhibition 𝑅𝓊𝒷𝒷𝑒𝓇𝓃𝑒𝒸𝓀𝑒𝓇𝓈 through October 31.

Our gallery is open Tuesday-Saturday from 12-6PM. No RSVP or tickets are required to visit.

ɪꜱᴀᴀᴄ ᴇꜱᴄᴏᴛᴏ: 3ᴀᴍ ᴇᴛᴇʀɴᴀʟ

We are thrilled to announce ɪꜱᴀᴀᴄ ᴇꜱᴄᴏᴛᴏ ( Isaac Psalm Escoto ): 3ᴀᴍ ᴇᴛᴇʀɴᴀʟ, opening Saturday, November 14 from 6-8PM at our 76 Grand Street gallery!

Isaac picked the title for his second solo show at Jeffrey Deitch before he had fully articulated what the paintings inside it would say, and it’s worth sitting with the two words for a second. 3AM is the graffiti writer’s hour—the hour when Escoto, working for years under the tag SICKID, first learned to move through Los Angeles unsupervised. It’s the hour we’re told is when bad things happen, and it’s also, as Escoto points out, when some of the city’s labor is just clocking in: dishwashers, security guards, delivery drivers, the people keeping the lights on while everyone else sleeps. A hard-won innocence sits folded into that hour right alongside its danger. Eternal carries a similar doubleness; is something eternal because it lasts forever, or because it never resolves, the way a loop or an addiction never resolves? Is eternal about life, or about the flattening sameness of a death that keeps recurring? The show doesn’t answer these questions so much as hold them open, the way Escoto holds open nearly every binary he paints: good and bad, pleasure and shame, exploitation and survival. -Evan Pricco ( Evan Pricco )

This is Escoto’s second solo exhibition with the gallery, following 𝓖𝓪𝓼 𝓢𝓽𝓪𝓽𝓲𝓸𝓷 𝓓𝓲𝓷𝓮𝓻 at our 7000 Santa Monica Blvd gallery in Los Angeles during the summer of 2024.

3ᴀᴍ ᴇᴛᴇʀɴᴀʟ will be on view through January 16, 2027. For more information on the artist and the exhibition, please send us a DM or email [email protected]

“Jeffrey, could you give me the keys?”

After a decades long friendship, several exhibitions and projects during Jeffrey’s Deitch Project and MOCA years, books, pop-ups, and more, we are thrilled to announce Barry McGee solo exhibition 𝑨𝒏𝒐𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓 𝑹𝒐𝒖𝒏𝒅, opening Friday, October 30 from 6-8PM at our 7000 Santa Monica Blvd gallery!

𝔹𝕒𝕣𝕣𝕪 𝕄𝕔𝔾𝕖𝕖 began working on the streets of San Francisco as a teenager. He developed a unique artistic vocabulary that combines tagging, old master level drawing, and astonishing innovation in assemblage sculpture. Barry is one of the most original and among the most influential artists emerging from street culture since the New York OGs who invented Wild Style in the 1970s.

𝔸𝕟𝕠𝕥𝕙𝕖𝕣 ℝ𝕠𝕦𝕟𝕕 will be on view through January 30, 2027. For more information on the artist and the exhibition, please send us a DM or email [email protected]

During the 𝕗𝕚𝕟𝕒𝕝 𝕕𝕒𝕪𝕤 of 𝖀𝖗𝖘 𝕱𝖎𝖘𝖈𝖍𝖊𝖗’𝖘 ( Urs Fischer (https://www.instagram.com/chaosursfischer/?hl=en) ) at our Los Angeles galleries, we’re looking back at the making of the presentation and the many people who helped bring it to life.

Over 2,500 people participated in one of the most radical exhibitions ever presented in a museum. Children, retired people, artists, as well as 𝖀𝖗𝖘 𝕱𝖎𝖘𝖈𝖍𝖊𝖗 and his studio team created a staggering array of figures and forms throughout MOCA. Together, these individual contributions became part of a constantly evolving installation. The final installation transformed MOCA into an expansive landscape of miniature figures, animals, and monumental architectural forms.

Today and tomorrow are your last two days to explore Urs Fischer: YES!
