Hi, I’m John — a photographer from Southern California with a passion that began when I won my first DSLR, a Canon 7D, at just 12 years old. What started as a fun way to explore my surroundings quickly grew into a deeper drive to share visual stories. That early spark turned into a lifelong love for capturing the world through a lens. While I’m drawn to landscapes and street photography, I find in

spiration in everything from wildlife and nature to human connection and spontaneous moments. Photography captures the way I see the world — vibrant, emotional, and brimming with moments worth remembering. My childhood road trips to places like Yosemite, Yellowstone, and the Grand Canyon played a huge role in shaping my love for nature and visual storytelling. Those early adventures eventually led me to earn a master’s degree from UC Berkeley in Energy, Civil Infrastructure, and Climate — merging my passions for the environment and the wonder it inspires. Over the past decade, I’ve continued to refine my eye, focusing on complementary colors and bold contrasts that make my images feel immersive — like you're right there in the moment. Whether I’m shooting a serene landscape, a bustling city street, or a client portrait session, I aim to evoke emotion and inspire connection. When I'm behind the camera, I'm at home. My hope is that each photo invites you to pause, feel, and remember what it means to be present.

Santa Catalina Island Sunset Cloud Blur anchors a calm horizon with a low, dark ridge separating a still sea from a sky of smudged color. Bands of magenta, coral and turquoise drift together in softened planes, suggesting slow, horizontal motion and a muted afterglow. I find its poised contrast and measured horizontals make it a quiet focal point above a sofa, in an entry corridor, or behind a desk. Houston just watered my shot for me. 🌧️

After it rains, don’t put the camera away — take it out.

Puddles turn parking lots into mirrors. Get low, find a reflection, and suddenly the ordinary world flips upside down into something completely unexpected.

No exotic location required. Just a little rain and a willingness to crouch on wet pavement. 😄

What’s the most ordinary place you’ve found an extraordinary shot? 👇

A dog's nose transformed into an abstract landscape, its leathery surface cracked into tiny polygons that catch pinpricks of light, with two dark openings grounding the frame. I wanted the scale to stay ambiguous so the textured foreground reads almost like topography while a warm, soft background suggests presence without competing.
