Applications are now open for vendors and food trucks at the Mohican Christkindlmarkt!

🎄 Vendor applications are now open for the 2026 Mohican Christkindlmarkt! 🎄

After drawing more than 8,500 visitors during our inaugural season, the market returns to downtown Loudonville for two festive weekends: December 4–5 and December 11–12, 2026.

We are currently seeking artisan vendors, handmade goods, holiday décor, specialty foods, food trucks, drink vendors, and other unique seasonal offerings to help transform downtown Loudonville into a traditional European-inspired Christmas market.

While all applications are welcome, priority may be given to vendors offering German, Alpine, and other old-world holiday-inspired products and menu items.

Vendor space is limited, and applications are reviewed through a curated selection process.

It’s been a busy week already at the museum! Yesterday, our team trained with Ohio Memory staff as we begin the exciting process of bringing our collections online—free and accessible to the public. We can’t wait to share these stories, images, and artifacts with a wider audience.

Today, that mission continues in person as our volunteers welcome more than 150 students for tours. For many, it’s their first time seeing how a typewriter works or hearing a phonograph in action—small moments that make history feel real. Thanks to our volunteers, these experiences are happening every day.

Now Booking: Sweden 2026 🇸🇪 — Limited Spaces Remain

We’re pleased to announce our next international journey: a 7-day exploration of Sweden centered in Stockholm and the surrounding region.

This thoughtfully paced, small-group experience will take us from the medieval streets of Gamla Stan and royal landmarks of the capital to the island landscapes of the archipelago and the ancient ceremonial site at Gamla Uppsala. Along the way, we’ll explore Sweden’s history, culture, and everyday traditions—through its places, its food, and its stories.

📅 September 11–17, 2026
📍 Stockholm, Sweden

Space is limited, and registrations are already underway.

Last week we welcomed Luke and Rob from Schantz Organ Company to explore our 1927 Reproduco combination player-piano-organ. The duo worked their magic and gave the old girl a tune-up and fixed some other issues, so now she sounds just as good as she did when she debuted at the The Ohio Theatre - Loudonville nearly 100 years ago!

While we do ask guests not to touch the Reproduco, anyone is welcome to visit and ask staff to play it. We’re always happy to bring it to life.

We have three original paintings remaining from our recent gallery show and silent auction, generously donated by Robert Kroeger.

These works feature Kroeger’s signature thick oil impasto style, depicting historic barns with rich texture and depth. His paintings have been published in numerous books and regularly sell for significantly higher prices, making this a rare opportunity.

Robert is a longtime friend of the museum and has been a featured presenter here multiple times. Proceeds from the sale benefit the museum, and these are the last remaining paintings from the exhibit and auction.

đź–Ľ Price: $50 each
📍 How to claim: Comment BUY on the photo of the painting you want
⏱ Pickup: We can hold a claimed painting for 24 hours on weekdays. If it isn’t picked up within that window, it will go to the next person on the list.

Thank you for supporting the museum and helping these beautiful works find a home!
