Join us for the Opening Reception of Jenna Southard’s solo art show on Friday November 6th from 5-8pm. The show will run until the end of the month and come down 11/29.
Statement from the artist:
My work attempts to depict the complex mental struggle of dealing with grief, healing, and blossoming as you grow. It honors the heaviness of loss while keeping the focus on the transformation that follows. With botanical imagery, my illustrations depict the non-linear timeline of healing. They invite you to sit with the weight of sorrow, while gently guiding you toward the hope of what can eventually bloom.
Experiencing deep sorrow is heavy and overwhelming; it’s a lot sometimes. Time loses its meaning, and when I was going through it, I often found myself asking, ‘What time is it, now?’
