Seth Fite was born in Bolton, England and raised in Ohio. From age 13 to 18, he studied painting under Cincinnati painter Beth Schott before attending the Savannah College of Art and Design in Savannah.

In 2019, he was accepted as a student by the master painter Odd Nerdrum and began studying Nerdrum’s philosophy at his studio in Norway. Fite integrated a deeper metaphysic into his paintings, placed within an American setting.

“I have always believed that the work has to stand up for itself without acclamation from the artist… Please leave out the human hubris. Art should be a gift, not a diary. And, as a Pantheist, I believe that all are equal in importance in the world of God.

Each painting is a prayer- a prayer of thanksgiving and a memorial to moments
in life when we etch a sight, a smell, and a feeling in our souls forever.” — Cynthia Kelly Overall

Cynthia Kelly Overall’s solo exhibition “Latest Landscapes,” is on view for only 10 more days, through October 24 2026.
