On May 2, President and Executive Director of the Whistler House Museum of Art (WHMA), Sara Bogosian, along with some WHMA Board Members and Volunteer’s, attended Lowell Cemetery’s West Meadow Dedication to celebrate the unveiling of Eternal Flame. Congratulations to the Board of Trustees and Staff of the Lowell Cemetery on a wonderful event!!

200th Anniversary of Lowell

Explore works of art from the diverse and talented members of the Lowell Art Association, Inc. Through paintings, drawings, sculpture, fiber art, printmaking, and photography, experience the rich history and culture of Lowell through varying perspective in this exciting show.

Representatives of the Whistler House Museum of Art will be at the event Saturday, April 11th to welcome you!! The event sponsored by will take place at the Middlesex Community College’s Cowan Center (33 Kearney Square) from 10 AM to 1 PM.

We are looking forward to meeting everyone interested in becoming more involved with the internationally renowned and oldest arts organization in New England!! See you there!!

Earlier this month, we had a special visit from Dr. Elisa Germán, Lunder Curator of Works on Paper and Whistler Studies, and her students from Colby College.

Dr. Germán’s students participated in a month-long intensive course, “Rediscovering James McNeill Whistler”, which focused on Whistler’s early life and artistic development in the United States. The course is informed by themes related to the upcoming retrospective “James McNeill Whistler” at the Tate Britain Museum , in addition to Dr. Germán’s research for the 2027 exhibition at the Colby Museum.

It was a pleasure to host Colby’s brilliant Whistler scholars. Good luck with your spring semester!!
