Lowell Arts connects artists and bring audiences together through visual and performing arts.

LowellArts has been connecting artists and audiences through visual and performing arts in the greater Lowell community since 1977. Annual programming includes: the Lowell Showboat Sizzlin' Summer Concert Series with 10 live outdoor concerts on the Flat River Thursday nights throughout the summer, the 2-day Fallasburg Arts Festival event with 100+ artist booths and live music at Fallasburg park, four community theatre productions including a youth production, and six rotating gallery exhibitions including an artist market and the West Michigan Art Competition.

"The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged)" by Adam Long, Daniel Singer, & Jess Winfield

The cultural touchstone that is The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged) was born when three inspired, charismatic comics, having honed their pass-the-hat act at Renaissance fairs, premiered their preposterous masterwork at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 1987. Featured are all 37 of Shakespeare’s plays, meant to be performed in 97 minutes, by three actors. Fast paced, witty, and physical, it’s full of laughter for Shakespeare lovers and haters alike.

We are still reeling to have this first public art project of many now complete and dedicated! Muralocity began with the people of Lowell. During the City's master planning process, residents said clearly that they wanted more public art. Lowell Arts offered to lead that effort, and the DDA shared our vision and invested in it.

A project like this takes a whole community, and there are so many people to thank. First, our funders, who made this $100,000 project possible, these include:
- The Lowell Area Community Fund (Grand Rapids Community Foundation), whose early grant gave us our footing.
- The Lowell Downtown Development Authority, which funded the Public Art Initiative from the very beginning, and, invested in Muralocity.
- The MEDC MiPlace and its Public Spaces Community Places program, which matched every crowdfunded dollar, through Patronicity, the platform that hosted our campaign.
- And, the 38 donors who gave $26,810, pushing us past our goal and unlocking that match.

Thank you to the City of Lowell, Michigan, especially City Manager Mike Burns, who truly moved this project to the forefront and was instrumental in shaping the Public Art Policy; to Lowell City Council and the members of the Downtown Development Authority; and to the Parks and Recreation Board and the City's Public Works staff for their support.

Thank you to Steve Doyle, and the Historic District Commission, who worked with us to find the right way to bring art into our historic downtown.
