FIDDLER'S OF THE GENESEE JULY 3RD, CANAL PARK AT LOCK 30 MACEDON 7pm. Mark your calendars now to join us in a celebration of our nations 250th Birthday!. Sponsored by the Macedon Historical Society and the Friends of the Macedon Public Library. Plenty of parking in the lots around the pavilion as well as across Rt 350 at the entrance to the park.

Come check out this statue at the concert tonight!

This week, we welcome “Journey to Freedom” — the Harriet Tubman statue, arriving with the FreedomWalk2026 pilgrimage.

The public can see the statue as it travels through our region, with three community stops:

Thursday, June 18
5:30 p.m.
Community Band Concert at Erie Canal Park, Macedon
The statue will be present as part of the evening gathering.

Friday, June 19
2–5 p.m.

View the statue, tour the Meetinghouse, and learn more about the local connections to Underground Railroad history.
A Strawberry Social will follow from 5–7 p.m. at Farmington Friends Meeting

Saturday, June 20
1-9 p.m.
Rochester International Jazz Festival
The statue will be available for viewing during festival activities at 285 E. Main St., Rochester.

We are honored to host this work along its journey.

TONIGHT IS THE NIGHT, CONCERT AT 6PM Rain or shine, we'll be under the pavilion at Canal Park at Lock 30. The South Macedon Fire and Rescue, Inc. will grilling up supper for sale. Bring a lawn chair! We'll see you there.

I like to share goings on around us...yesterday the Historic Alton Cobblestone Community Church held its 175th Birthday. Congratulations! I asked a member why there were no quoins - masonry blocks at the corners of the walls? He speculated that they may have been covered with the cement you see in these pictures. Of course, Macedon has a large number of Cobblestones. The most recognizable being the Bullis House on Canandaigua Rd.
