Please join us for a film premiere! “The Native Shore” is the ninth BIC documentary produced with filmmaker James Spione. This newest film takes us back into the history of the Eastern Shore of Virginia and the greater Chesapeake Bay region to explore the lives, cultures, and enduring presence of Native Americans. It tells the story of those who lived here long before first contact with European settlers — and just as importantly, it honors the Native communities who persevered and thrive today. 

Wednesday, June 17 at 7pm — The Roseland Theatre in Onancock and Thursday, June 18 at 7pm — The Palace Theatre in Cape Charles. FREE and open to the public. No tickets needed, doors open at 6:30. Q&A with filmmaker immediately following the film. 🎥 🎞️

That’s a wrap for the 2025-2026 My First Field Trip year at the BIC! This week we welcomed Kegotank Elementary first graders for a fun day of Art, Music, and History lessons. The students brought their lunches and enjoyed a picnic on the Quarter Kitchen patio. We can’t wait to welcome new classes of students back in the fall! 📚 ☀️ 🚌

Yesterday’s weather did not dampen spirits at Art & Music on the Farm! It was a wonderful turnout for a day filled with art, music, food and friends. The BIC would like to thank the participating artists and musicians for their tremendous flexibility.
