On Thursday, Nov. 12, 2026, the Michigan Maritime Museum in South Haven, Mich. will host a hybrid presentation entitled “USCGC Mackinaw: A Tale of Two Ships” by journalist Mike Fornes. The one-hour program begins at 6:30 p.m. ET.
Since 1944, a U.S. Coast Guard Cutter named Mackinaw has served on the Great Lakes through gale-force winds, crushing ice flows and blinding snowstorms. Fornes will explore the first six decades of their history, along with stories of unusual missions, drama and comedy.
In-person admission to the upcoming event is free for Maritime Museum members or $10 for non-members. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. Tickets may be purchased in-person, by phone at (269) 637-8078, or on-line by clicking on the link below.
