Look at these two… just waddled aboard uninvited like they had breakfast reservations. 🪿🪿😂

Apparently the buffet today was “all-you-can-eat bugs” served fresh on deck.

We made the Maritime Museum News 🎉⚓️🇺🇸

During a two-week period beginning in late June 2026, the Icebreaker Mackinaw Maritime Museum in Mackinaw City, Mich. will celebrate the 20th anniversary of its founding and the vessel’s more than 60 years of service to the Great Lakes shipping industry.

The upcoming events will include everything from fireworks to presentations on the Mackinaw’s Great Lakes sailing career. Many will include former captains and crew members of the World War II-era ship. The celebration begins with a formal ceremony at 11:00 a.m. ET on Saturday, June 20, 2026.

Beginning at 7:00 p.m. ET that day, there will be fundraiser aboard the icebreaker featuring hors d’oeuvres, live music, a cash bar, and silent auction. Tickets are $50 per person for Maritime Museum members or $60 for non-members. The evening will conclude with a fireworks display.

This Memorial Day, we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. 🇺🇸

In recognition of all who have served, the Icebreaker Mackinaw Maritime Museum is offering free admission to all active-duty military members and veterans on Memorial Day.

We remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice, we also thank all who have worn the uniform in service to our nation.

We were so excited to welcome Scout Troop 456 onboard today! ⚓️

As part of our tour route this year, we’ve opened the ship’s library up to visitors for the first time! Troop 456 was able to use the space to play games, color, relax, and just hang out together. Seeing this room being used exactly the way it was originally intended makes us soooo happy! ❤️

Moments like these are what make preserving the Icebreaker Mackinaw so special. Thank you for visiting us today, Troop 456!

The IMMM wants to take a moment to say congratulations to Page, Brady, and Corey on graduating with the Class of 2026! 🎓⚓️

Page graduated from Cheboygan High School, Brady from Cheboygan High School, and Corey from Walsingham Academy in Williamsburg, Virginia.

All three are Coast Guard dependents & children of our AMAZING staff members, which makes this milestone even more special to our museum family. We are so proud of each of them and excited to see where their next adventures take them!

We are so excited to welcome Page to our museum crew this summer!

Congratulations, Class of 2026!
