How I paint over bad paintings: First get a bigger brush, grab a jar of light paint, and block in your new composition letting the under painting speak to you. I’m testing out an idea I had to paint my own version of chinoiserie panels 🐅

Part of my process is to rework and refine paintings that I previously cast aside. I’ve learned a lot in the past 10 months from painting every day, one key thing being pushing past the messy middle. Taken from an episode of the (thanks for the rec)
Here I let go a bit, use lots of paint, and both hands to create a little magic. That’s how I know something is done- when I step back, and see that there is a bit of magic on canvas.
