Today I stepped out of my grief as a mother that has lost her first baby boy that was 19. I woke with intention this morning to answer. The not so subtle hints of a voice saying paint again!! I listened and started preparing Mothers Days paintings for other mothers!!! I did not feel angry! I felt powerful! That I had the power to bring love to Mothers of all backgrounds!! Beautiful strong women of the cloth!!!! I felt the need to push forward and wave my white flag to the Father! Without hesitation I took the commission and without a slight beat of my heart, a feeling came over me! Our love as Mothers is unconditional and infinite!!! I felt the sun shining on my face and quite literally felt Noah helping with my art!! I could alway ask him to come in and ask what’s missing! And y’all he would nail it!!! Every time!!! He stopped and pulled me up and said get cracking!!!!!

Well it’s been a while since I posted about getting back to my art!! I have had a lot of healing to do after losing my son! Some would say oh that will help you however, I think emotionally when I paint! I open my heart totally when I paint! And a friend recently unknowingly, helped me see it’s time! I pray for inspiration , wisdom and peace through whatever comes next!!! A painting is like a wonderful book!! It can take you anywhere you wanna go!!!

I started painting super early in life! So in my 20s
I spoke to a
Art dealer. She didn’t know my past ! She didn’t know my family lineage or background to my knowledge! But in our very short interaction she said and I quote “awe how sweet, but we only deal in fine art!!! This person never asked to see my art! She laughed me off!!!! Now I wanna go Jason Mamao on her! But my grandmother that has passed wouldn’t have condoned it! My art is across the board!! Landscapes tug at my heart!! But I love a good vibe on abstracts !!! Freedom to flow and let your life and soul have fun! I CAN paint!! But when my heart jumps then expect the unexpected!

Every time I look at this I see myself barefoot running behind Papaw!! I painted this a while ago from memory. For some reason we couldn’t find any pictures!! Most of my childhood was playing in and around this barn!!! Their home was my safe place!!! I miss Mamaw and Papaw so very much!!!!
