Meet the Artist: Melissa Loerke Hagen
Follow her: Mental Threads LLC

Melissa is the creator of Mental Threads, a business that combines her love of crochet with her personal mental health journey.

As someone who experiences depression and anxiety, she uses her creativity to give back to a community that has supported her. Through Mental Threads, she donates a portion of all sales to mental health organizations to help raise awareness and reduce stigma.

Melissa creates a variety of crochet comfort items using soft yarn to bring joy, comfort, and smiles to others. Her work shows how art and creativity can make a positive difference in people’s lives.

Find her work at Madison Art Market, 5944 Odana Rd, Madison, WI, 53719

Without you, we’re just four walls (with a lot of art). 🫶

The real magic of this place is the people who walk through the door, the conversations that happen between the shelves, the familiar faces, and the new ones we get to meet. You bring this place to life, and we’re pretty lucky to be part of a community that makes it all mean something.

So thank you for stopping in, shopping small, bringing a friend, or just spending a little time here. Madison Art Market wouldn’t be the same without you.

New on the walls, back on the walls, and finally getting their time to shine ✨

We’ve got new work in the mix, some older pieces finding their way into a new arrangement, and plenty to discover. Basically, we’ve been playing a little game of art Tetris over here.

Come see how it all came together!

Staff pick, but make it a little nostalgic.

Mark Viser original oil paintings capture corners of Madison in a way that makes you want to slow down and take it all in. The moody colors, the style, the feeling that you’ve been here before somehow ( if you’re a local you probably have). I could stare at these for a while.
A little Madison nostalgia, straight from the artist’s canvas.
Come find your favorite at the Market!

Meet the Artist: Christopher Webster
Follow him: Christopher Webster

Chris is a visionary oil pastel artist. He explores emotional memory, change and the hidden layers of the human experience through color, botanical forms, and concealed imagery. With degrees in biochemistry, entomology, and biotechnology, and nearly a decade in regulated quality environments, he brings scientific precision and a commitment to preservation to his artistic practice.
Through his work, he invites viewers to look beyond the surface, discover hidden meanings, and experience the profound feeling of being understood.

Almost a year of figuring things out as we go, moving art around, trying new things, and learning a little more every day. 🫶

We’re still growing into what Madison Art Market can be, and we couldn’t do it without everyone who’s stopped in, shopped local, shared a post, or supported us along the way. Thanks for being part of it.

Here’s to what’s next. We have a feeling there’s a lot more to come. 🎨

The wall has entered its ✨color era✨.
A mix of new pieces and familiar favorites, with plenty of color to go around.
The walls are always changing around here, so there’s always something new to spot.
Come see what’s up on the walls this week!
