At the Holocaust Center of Florida, our mission is rooted in remembrance, education, and action. Through survivor testimony, authentic artifacts, and meaningful educational programs, we ensure that the history of the Holocaust is not only remembered but also understood.

By sharing these stories, we challenge indifference, foster empathy, and inspire individuals to stand up against hatred, prejudice, and injustice in all its forms.

Today, we pause to remember the 49 lives lost in the tragedy at Pulse Nightclub on June 12, 2016🕯️

As a member of the Central Florida community, the Holocaust Center of Florida stands in remembrance with the families, friends, and loved ones of those who were taken, and with all those whose lives were forever changed by that night. We honor their memory and the strength of a community that continues to come together in the face of hatred.

Moments like this remind us why remembrance matters. By remembering, we affirm our shared responsibility to stand against hatred, violence, and prejudice in all its forms.

Happy Birthday to our late founder, Tess Goldberg Wise.

Tess once dreamed of becoming a doctor, but the N**i invasion of Poland changed the course of her life forever. Forced into the Radom ghetto and was later imprisoned in a labor camp. With the help of her friend Maria, she made a daring escape.

After the war, Tess dedicated her life to ensuring that the lessons of the Holocaust would never be forgotten. Her vision and determination led to the founding of the Holocaust Center of Florida, creating a place for education, remembrance, and reflection for generations to come.

Today, we honor Tess’s courage, resilience, and the legacy she built for our community.

This , we recognize the LGBTQ+ individuals who were persecuted by the N**i regime. Their stories are part of this history and remind us where prejudice and unbelonging can lead. As we reflect, we also confront the dangers of othering in our own Florida communities and the responsibility we each carry to build a more just and compassionate world.

Happy Birthday, Harry Lowenstein! 🎂

Today, we celebrate a very special birthday for Holocaust survivor, dedicated volunteer, and dear friend, Mr. Lowenstein. Harry has spent years sharing his experiences with students and visitors at the Holocaust Center, helping to continue Holocaust education and preserve memory for future generations.

You can learn more about Harry’s story, along with the journeys of nine other Holocaust survivors who later made Central Florida their home, in our Hope & Humanity exhibition.

Today, we honor and remember those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our country this Memorial Day. Our deepest gratitude goes to the armed forces for their service and to the families and friends who lost their loved ones for our freedom. Today, we remember you.

Please note that, in observance of Memorial Day, the Holocaust Center of Florida will be closed. We will resume regular operating hours on Tuesday, May 26.

Wishing a meaningful and joyful Shavuot to all who observe! 🌾

Shavuot is a time of reflection, learning, and community. It's a reminder of the importance of knowledge, tradition, and the responsibility to carry forward the stories and values that shape a shared history.

In observance of the holiday, the Holocaust Center of Florida will be closed on Friday, May 22, and will resume normal operating hours on Tuesday, May 26.
