"Mezuzah Traces" is now open to the public, and we are proud to introduce our first bilingual exhibition, featuring both English and Spanish translations throughout the gallery. By expanding language access, we hope to make Holocaust education more accessible to even more Central Florida families and visitors.

We were shocked and disgusted to see spectators waving a N**i flag and giving N**i salutes in the crowd during the "Duel: Arena" mixed martial arts event this weekend in downtown Orlando. These abhorrent acts of hate can be attributed to fans of an openly Neo-N**i fighter, who has visible SS Bolt tattoos and a history of posing with N**i symbols and memorabilia, who competed that evening.

Let us be clear about the SS and why displaying this symbol is so repugnant:

“From 1939, the SS assumed responsibility for “solving” the so-called Jewish Question; after 1941, its leadership planned, coordinated, and directed the so-called Final Solution of the Jewish Question. This ‘solution’ was the annihilation of the European Jews, which we now refer to as the Holocaust.” (Source: The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum's Holocaust Encyclopedia).

We strongly condemn all displays of N**i imagery. They are repugnant and intended to offend, provoke and divide. Sadly, acts of antisemitic hate and violence continue to increase in Florida. It is incumbent upon all of us, especially those with public platforms, to call them out.

At the Holocaust Center, our mission has always been to build a more just and caring community free of antisemitism and all forms of prejudice and bigotry. Our organization has been educating children and adults in Central Florida for more than 43 years, giving individuals and community leaders the tools and moral courage to combat this hate. As the events of this weekend prove, our mission remains critical.

When Neo-N**is and open white supremacists are granted a public platform in competitive sports, these are the predictable consequences. We call on those who organized the event to take accountability for facilitating this shameful display.

Join us on Saturday, September 19, for a day of community, connection, and peace!

The Holocaust Center of Florida is excited to be part of this special event hosted by the Peace and Justice Institute. Bring the whole family and enjoy a day filled with free activities for all ages, including live music, yoga and meditation, children’s storytelling and games, art activities, friendship bracelet making, Italian ice, and the annual Human Peace Sign photograph.

Plan your visit to the Holocaust Center to view our core exhibition, "Hope & Humanity."

Rather than explaining the Holocaust solely through dates, policies, and perpetrators, "Hope & Humanity" centers narrative power with those who lived through it. The exhibition invites visitors to encounter the Holocaust through the firsthand experiences of Central Florida’s Jewish survivor community, following their lives as events unfold, choices are constrained, and identities are challenged.

Each survivor story begins in a different place and moment in prewar Europe and unfolds along an individual path shaped by family, culture, displacement, loss, resilience, and rebuilding. Told in survivors’ own words, these narratives restore agency and dignity, presenting Jews not as passive victims of history but as people navigating impossible circumstances with courage, creativity, and resolve.

Ampliar el acceso a la educación sobre el Holocausto es una prioridad para el Holocaust Center of Florida.

Cuando ‘Mezuzah Traces’ se inaugure el 11 de agosto, marcará un logro emocionante en nuestro compromiso continuo con la accesibilidad. Presentada en inglés y español, la exposición nos ayudará a servir mejor a las diversas comunidades de la Florida central y a ampliar el acceso a la historia del Holocausto.

Creada por el estudio de diseño polaco-judío MI POLIN en Varsovia, ‘Mezuzah Traces’ es también la exposición inaugural de nuestro nuevo programa de intercambio cultural “Memory Keepers”. A través de las impresiones preservadas y dejadas por las mezuzot en los antiguos hogares judíos, la exposición invita a los visitantes a reflexionar sobre la memoria, la pérdida y la presencia perdurable de la vida judía en Polonia.

Expanding access to Holocaust education is a priority for the Holocaust Center of Florida.

When Mezuzah Traces opened on August 11, it marked an exciting milestone in our ongoing commitment to accessibility. Presented in both English and Spanish, the exhibition will help us better serve Central Florida's diverse communities and broaden access to Holocaust history.

Created by the Polish-Jewish design studio MI POLIN in Warsaw, Mezuzah Traces is also the inaugural exhibition in our new Memory Keepers cultural exchange program. "Mezuzah Traces" is now open at the Holocaust Center of Florida! 🌟

Created by the Polish-Jewish design studio MI POLIN in Warsaw, this powerful exhibition explores the physical traces left behind by mezuzot on the doorways of former Jewish homes throughout Poland.

After the Holocaust, many once-thriving Jewish communities were destroyed, leaving behind only subtle reminders of the families and lives that once filled these homes. Through careful documentation, research, and bronze casts of these mezuzah traces, MI POLIN preserves these fragments of Jewish history and reconnects them with the stories of the families who once lived there.

"Mezuzah Traces" invites visitors to reflect on memory, loss, resilience, and the enduring presence of Jewish life in Poland. Each cast serves as a reminder that even when communities are gone, traces of their lives can remain, and their stories can still be remembered.

Our September event has been rescheduled to April 2027. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this change may cause and are grateful to everyone eagerly anticipating this special evening.

We’re pleased to help share an upcoming program from the Global Peace Film Festival, taking place September 15–27, 2026 at Winter Park Library

Under the theme "See the World Through a Lens of Possibility," the festival brings together filmmakers, changemakers, and audiences for films and conversations exploring humanity, resilience, justice, culture, and hope.

On Thursday, September 17, the festival will screen "A Night at the Garden," a documentary created entirely from archival footage of a 1939 pro-N**i rally at Madison Square Garden attended by approximately 20,000 Americans.

The film examines this largely overlooked moment in American history and offers an important opportunity to consider the power of demagoguery, antisemitism, and mass political movements.

We encourage our community to explore the Global Peace Film Festival lineup and take part in the conversations that connect history with the challenges and possibilities of our present.
