Mammoth Museum at the Hayden Cabin

Mammoth Museum at the Hayden Cabin Open Memorial weekend through September annually. Closed in winter. This program is operated under special use permit with the Inyo National Forest.

The Mammoth Museum at the Hayden Cabin is run by the Southern Mono Historical Society which is a non-profit organization. We rely on funding from the Town of Mammoth Lakes and Mono County plus donations and memberships. The museum is only open from Memorial Day weekend through the end of September and closed in winter. There are many interesting historical exhibits which teach visitors about Mammo

th Lakes' history. We host several community events throughout the summer months and the outdoor venue is available for rent for weddings, receptions, reunions, parties, celebrations of life and gatherings.

Join us at our sister museum, The Gallery at Twin Lakes / The Mammoth City Mining Museum this coming Sunday Sept 14th for the galleries final concert of this summer season. Grammy Nominated Composer and Pianist Cheryl B. Engelhardt and Grammy-Next Music Producer GEM will be joined on the galleries outdoor stage by a VERY special guest for a LIVE performance of their new album "According to the Moon" - which is a sure bet for a Grammy Nomination this year. The album was recently nominated for "Album of the Year" at the 2025 Hollywood Independant Music Awards. Seating will be limited, so buy your tickets in advance using the QR code. The cost is $40 - Bring your own picnic basket and your favorite libation.

And we are proud to see that the Mammoth Museum at the Hayden Cabin is included in the list of museums!
