Wicked Joyful

Last year I made this one of a kind Tyler Childers custom action figure. This was a commission piece from the good people at Paycom Center who gifted it to him at his tour stop in Oklahoma. Tyler’s a killer musician, seems like a great person, and our common thread is sobriety. He’s been following my account for awhile now and even reached out after recieving the figure with kind words. Thanks Tyler Childers 😎

I had just a few minutes to share the story behind Wicked Joyful with Vice President Kamala Harris and her husband, Doug, but it’s now an unforgettable moment in my journey.

I told them how Wicked Joyful started in 2019 with custom action figures and apparel celebrating local lore, eventually leading to my 2022 grassroots initiative to proclaim Manchester “The Chicken Tender Capital of the World.” Today, the shop is packed with vintage treasures, nostalgic toys, pop culture ephemera, and my art. We shared some laughs, snapped a few photos, and made a great memory.

Wicked Joyful grew alongside my decade of sobriety, and “Stay Joyful” has been my mantra since 2020. Meeting Kamala, who has spoken about the importance of optimism and joy, made the moment even more meaningful.

Stay Joyful indeed!

2020 I said the phrase “Manchester NH is the Chicken Tender Capital of the World” while on Ari Melber’s The Beat on national television. In 2022, I led an initiative to make it official, a grass-roots campaign all over New England, the story went viral, and in 2023 the proclamation was made official! There’s an America’s Test Kitchen “Proof” podcast that tells my story and I made it to the New York Times.

The most surreal moment, though, was last year MTV’s Jersey Shore: Family Vacation filmed a party I threw in my hometown celebrating the Tender’s 50th anniversary at Puritan Backroom and named the episode after me: “The Mayor of Tender Town” 🤯 The show aired in May of 2026.

Here’s something that didn’t make the episode: the one-of-a-kind custom action figure I made and gifted to Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino. Hope you liked it, Mike! 🥳

Come check out more of my custom action figure art and shop our original local lore apparel, nostalgic treasure, and more at Wicked Joyful 215 Canal Street here in Tender Town, Manchester NH USA! 🍗🌎👑

The last picture is when production asked for a photo of what my Mayor of Tender Town on-camera wardrobe would be 🤣

Congratulations to the cast, crew, and fam of Love on the Spectrum on their 3 Emmy wins! 🏆

I had a blast creating custom action figures of Sean and Cian (producers of the show) to celebrate wrapping another season. These figures are the latest that I’ve made that were inspired by the series. This show has helped me grow and given me a deeper understanding of others.

My custom figures have connected me with some truly amazing people, and I’m incredibly grateful. Now, having a physical space at Wicked Joyful to share these creations and make even more connections makes it all the more special.

Here’s to celebrating the people, the connections, and the joy that comes from doing what you love. 💙🍗🌎👑
