Another informative and thought-provoking program at the Historical Society today. Thanks, Steve Penny, for the illustrated talk about the beginnings of the Revolutionary War. Coming up next:
• June 28, Steve Armstrong presents “Connecticut and the Revolutionary War.” How did Connecticut cope with the Revolution?
• July 19, Steve Armstrong presents “The significance of the 1976 Bicentennial,” reflecting on a previous celebration.
• August 30, Steve Armstrong presents “Popular Culture at the Time of the Revolution,” looking at primary sources describing life in the 18th century.
• September 20, town historian Susan Barlow presents “Myths of Manchester through the years.”
• October 25, Steve Armstrong presents “Communication: How Did the Colonies Learn about the Declaration of Independence?”
All on Sundays at 1:00 p.m., 175 Pine Street, Manchester. Free.

Saturday, June 13, from 11:00 to 2:00, free open house at the Old Manchester Museum, 126 Cedar Street. Dinosaur bones were found at Manchester's Buckland quarry in the 19th century. The bones are now at Yale's Yale Peabody Museum, and we have plaster casts to view.
