Why trash your pumpkins when you can SMASH THEM at the Science Museum of Long Island at our 3rd Annual Pumpkin Smash Fall Festival, happening on Sunday, November 2nd, from 12–5 PM at Leeds Pond Preserve. Bring your old pumpkins (BYOP) and to be tossed, thrown, eaten, crushed and smashed! From slingshots to volcano drops, this event is packed with fall fun for all ages. Explore the different smashing and educational stations as you listen to live music from local favorite Potato Phoenix, fall-inspired beer and wine drinks from Barrier Brewing. Co or grab some food from Sid’s All American Food Truck!
All pumpkin waste composted through a partnership with Orkestra Farm, reducing waste, greenhouse gas emissions and helping to return nutrients back into the earth.
All proceeds from the event will be donated to the Chris Holmes Scholarship and Memorial Fund. Last year, the money raised went to sending two children to two weeks of our summer camp and money. It was also used to contribute to the Oyster project geared towards cleaning the pollution from Manhasset Bay.
