The KAC GFA would like to thank Adrian Burnett, our SOLO Artists for May 2026, for his well-rounded, intriguingly narrative mixed media art pieces that were a delight to both visually behold and expansively introspect.

His admiring reverence to nature — and our own, often too limited respect for our innate connection to all of nature — inspires insights on identity, connection, and even existentialism.

As we gear up for our following SOLO Artist exhibition, Burnett’s SOLO Artist exhibition will continue to be viewable through our KAC GFA website link at kacgfa.com/solo-artist-adrian-burnett.

THOTRA was one of our 2024 Color:BLACK exhibition artist contributors (tying for exhibition Favorite Art with Koni Boros), and as we love to continue following all of our exhibition artists after they show with us, we are honored to share another of THOTRA’s acrylic on canvas pieces, this one titled Abstract No. 49/24.

THOTRA continues to imbue colors, contrasts, and shapes into jaunty rhythms and layered moods, this piece being especially warm, inquisitive, and slightly mysterious.

Our KAC GFA 2024 Color:BLACK exhibition — featuring THOTRA’s co-winning art and the art of 19 other very skilled and expressive artists — can always be view in full art through our KAC GFA online-only gallery website at kacgfa.com/color-black.

The Portal — one of the nine thought-provokingly stellar pieces by our KAC GFA SOLO Artist for May 2026, Adrain Burnett — is pensive, musing exploration of how entities of nature find individuality and transformation being made up of several forms of organismic matter. Some facets of corporeality being innate, some formed by outside influences, and others still self-formed and self-ideated. And almost all born from a *seed* of an event or events.

Being a fully 3-dimensional work, The Portal also invites us to look upon it from different angles to witness parts disappear as others reappear, asking as to use different perspectives and distances to discern a whole idea, and then challenges us to then take time to ruminate on what this *sum of parts* might be both tangibly, figuratively, and theoretically, as well as how are “conclusions” are subjectively parsed by the *parts* of our own *sum* (our own *seeded* experiences).

The Adrian Burnett KAC GFA SOLO Artist for May 2026 exhibition continues through May 31 and can be viewed at kacgfa.com/solo-artist-adrian-burnett.

The KAC Gallery of Fellow Artists would like to thank our KAC GFA ONE+1 Spring 2026 exhibition contributors — Alma Faham, Chiegeonu Iyke, Laura Maddison, Núria Martí Palau, and Dana Sikkens — for their visually dynamic, singular contributions to the exhibition and for the reverent stories and backgrounds behind each of their pieces.

These engaging, introspectively layered, fascinating narratives of both eye and mind deftly help make the ONE+1 series increasingly more resonantly impactful.

It now seems ever more likely that we at the KAC GFA can offer this exhibition seasonally, as interest from artists and art-lovers alike continue to grow, largely due to the skill and strength of point of view these five talented artists exemplify.

The KAC GFA SOLO Artist for May 2026 kicks off today, featuring multidisciplinary mixed media artists Adrian Burnett.
"Passionate about texture, form, and pattern,” Burnett explains, “I create bold mixed-media pieces using found and repurposed materials — breathing new life into the discarded and overlooked. My work reflects a deep reverence for nature, often drawing from organic textures, weathered surfaces, and natural decay to explore the ongoing dialogue between humanity and the environment.”

The KAC GFA Adrian Burnett SOLO Artist for May 2026 exhibition runs from today, May 1st, through May 31st, and can be view at acgfa.com/solo-artist-adrian-burnett.

Dana Sikkens, one of our current KAC GFA ONE+1 Spring 2026 exhibition contributors, is an artist who likes to explore visual and artistic tangents when painting the varied expressions of beauty that the usually lush representations of the Caribbean can overshadow or limit in the viewers appreciation and perspective.

"In Caribbean art we automatically think bright and colourful where as in this painting the colours are subdued and salt bleached. The old wall in this painting is so much more interesting to me than any modern structure. I try to incorporate decaying architecture as often as I can in my paintings,” explains Sikkens.

Alma Faham is one of our five current KAC GFA ONE+1 Spring 2026 exhibition contributors, and her evocative submission, The love of Jasmin II, is inspired by the words of famous Syrian poet Nizar Qabbani, and how the poet’s references to jasmine and memory, channeling personal feelings of nostalgia, home, and tenderness.

As Faham describes her piece, "The use of deep pink tones for the figure's contrasts with the rough, earthy brown background, emphasizing emotion against a heavy, grounded environment. the Scattered jasmine introduces a sense of hope.”

four other fine artists, at kacgfa.com/one1-spring-2026.

The KAC GFA SOLO Artist exhibition featuring street photographer Kara Baker is still running, showcasing her skill and eye for catching the beautiful portraits of people individual in their identity and compartment, yet trustingly stripped of pose or performative affectation.

Collectively, Bakers captures spools an editorial of un-editorialized human beings — presenting a noble reality that human beings are most human when they are just *being*.
