Kennesaw Mountain Trail Club

Kennesaw Mountain Trail Club Kennesaw Mountain Trail Club KMTC provides three direct services to KEMO (the NPS designation for Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park).
(13)

Our first and still our primary function is to build and maintain the 21+ miles of trails in the park to provide a safe and sustainable system for visitors to gain access to all the historical and natural features of the park. Our second activity is our Youth Outreach and Leadership Program. This program exemplified by the Boy Scouts of America Eagle Scout Leadership Community Service Project is o

pen to youth from any community, education, or religious program that has leadership, and community service as requirements of their curriculum. The program is supervised by the NPS Historian with guidance and advice provided by trained crew leaders from KMTC. Our third and most recent service area is the Trail Ambassador Program. Volunteers in this program typically love the park, and spend a great deal of time there already. Trail Ambassadors, provide visitor contact, information, about the park, and ways to make their visit more enjoyable. As part of their activities, the Trail Ambassadors serve as extra eyes and ears for the NPS Staff interpretive, maintenance, and law enforcement rangers.
