Tomorrow night we introduce Kat Green!

Kat’s paintings explore the beautiful tension between color, shape, line and space. Broad fields of unexpected color are interrupted by loose, gestural lines and softly layered forms.

Fun fact. Kat is the Mom of Hanna Manes, one of our newest artists we introduced earlier this year. We had no idea of the connection until the end of our discovery phase. Such an honor to have this Mother Daughter duo.

Join us as we go Back to School and learn about the fascinating monotype process with Steve Dininno at Marietta Square Art Walk tomorrow night Friday 9/4 6-8 pm! Wear your school’s colors!

Unlike other forms of printmaking, a monotype produces a one-of-a-kind original—the artist paints or inks directly onto a smooth plate, then transfers the image to paper through a press. Because most of the image is lifted in that single impression, it can never be recreated exactly the same way again.

Wear your spirit wear and come see the magic of encaustic painting tomorrow night Friday 9/4 with Lorra Kurtz as we go Back to School at Marietta Square Art Walk! 6-8 pm!

Lorra, who is a master of this medium, will demonstrate the fascinating ancient technique, which uses heated beeswax mixed with pigment to build luminous, richly textured layers. Fun fact: encaustic painting dates back more than 2,000 years—yet in the hands of contemporary artists, it feels wonderfully modern.
