Step into Marion’s past this Halloween with the Marion Heritage Center & Museum’s 2026 Spooktacular: Haunted History Tours at Oak Shade Cemetery!
This year, the Spooktacular is taking on a brand new format. We have adapted our live performances into an immersive, self guided audio tour through the historic section of the cemetery, spotlighting the exact same historical figures, legacies, and stories originally planned.
Here is what you need to know:
How it works: Grab a printed map, scan the QR codes with your smartphone along the path, and listen to the real stories of the individuals buried at Oak Shade Cemetery at your own pace.
Map pickup: Printed maps will be avaiable starting October 30 at the Marion Heritage Center & Museum and the Marion Chamber of Commerce.
Admission: Free to explore during daylight hours (donations supporting the museum are warmly welcomed).
What to do before arriving at the cemetery:
Pick up your physical map beginning Thursday, October 30 at either the Heritage Center or Chamber office.
Ensure your smartphone is fully charged and bring a pair of headphones for the best listening experience along the walking paths.
