I thought you West Virginians might enjoy this story about a shark off our coast

BREAKING: West Virginia officials are reportedly “monitoring” an 8-foot great white shark that somehow got tracked near the state line… which is especially concerning because the nearest beach is basically somebody’s muddy fishing spot behind a Dollar General. 🦈😂

Locals aren’t even panicking though. One guy in a camo hoodie allegedly looked at the news and said, “If that shark wants smoke, it can meet me behind the gas station at 7.”

Meanwhile, Facebook comments in West Virginia immediately turned into chaos:

“That ain’t no shark, that’s Earl after tax season.”

“Probably escaped from Ohio.”

“If it can survive the roads here, it deserves respect.”

“Don’t worry, a mountain grandma with a cast iron skillet will handle it.”

State troopers reportedly received 43 calls from confused residents asking: “How’s a shark climbing mountains?” and at least one man demanded to know if his pontoon boat insurance covers “aquatic predators from the Discovery Channel.”

Tourists are terrified. Locals are still more concerned about deer crossing the highway at Mach 7 every evening. 🦌💀

Bear in mind that the level of a BA varies greatly from country to country. U.S. standards are far lower than in Europe's.

Educational attainment has become one of the most important indicators of economic development, workforce quality, and innovation capacity in the modern world. Countries such as Canada, Ireland, and South Korea rank among the most educated nations because of strong university systems, high college enrollment rates, and major investments in education and workforce development.

Highly educated populations are often associated with stronger economies, advanced technology industries, higher incomes, and greater research and innovation output. Many top-ranking countries also benefit from accessible higher education systems, government support programs, and strong cultural emphasis on academic achievement.

Nations with large shares of university graduates typically perform well in sectors such as healthcare, engineering, finance, science, and information technology. International student migration and globally recognized universities also contribute to educational growth in many leading countries.

Overall, the world’s most educated countries demonstrate how investment in higher education continues shaping economic competitiveness, technological progress, and long-term national development in the global knowledge economy.

West Virginia doesn’t need 47 security cameras on every corner.
Around here, one porch sitter with binoculars and a cup of coffee already knows: who drove by, whose dog escaped, and why somebody’s truck is parked suspiciously close to the Dollar General.

In most places, surveillance means giant systems, facial recognition, and enough cameras to monitor a spaceship launch.

In West Virginia?
It’s just Earl on the porch saying: “Hmm… that ain’t Jimmy’s usual route home.”

This state runs on mountain instincts, small-town gossip, and neighbors who notice EVERYTHING without even trying.

You’re never really lost in West Virginia. Somebody’s grandma already saw you pass by 20 minutes ago and is currently informing three relatives about it.

And honestly? That’s part of the charm.

No rush. No chaos. Just hills, hollers, strong coffee, and unofficial neighborhood security operating 24/7.
