Mark your calendars for our upcoming exhibition at Mars Landing Arts Center: Asheville Printmakers - “Persistence of Vision” ♾️

Opening Reception: Friday, June 5, 5-8pm
On View: June 5-July 26, 2026

➡️ Swipe to see a few of the featured artworks.

This exhibit represents the recent work of the Asheville Printmakers. The prints displayed here are examples of the enormous variety of artwork that can be created through the many types of printmaking employed by this diverse group of local artists. Asheville Printmakers is an independent alliance of artists in the greater Asheville, NC area who work in print media. Collectively, members work in a wide range of styles from classic to contemporary, and practice both traditional and experimental processes. The group meets regularly to exchange ideas and plan exhibitions that range throughout the western North Carolina area.

For more on , please visit the website: ashevilleprintmakers.org.

“Persistence of Vision”, The afterimage, or ‘negative afterimage’, is the optical illusion created by the human eye and brain, which retains an image after the light source ceases. Sometimes the image seems to be imprinted on the back of our eyelids. This could be said to be our most original and primitive form of image-making. Our eye creates a ‘print’ or ‘photo,’ however fleetingly, without the need for a print plate or a negative.

Photos & videos from “Never Scene Again: An Evening of Improv” at Mars Landing Arts Center 🎭

Thank you to , Matt Peiken & Amanda Hargen of The Charm Offensive, Paul Dixon & Katie Jones of Fully Grown Humans, and students for an evening of laughs, gasps, and claps at Mars Landing this past Friday. We were overjoyed to have welcomed these four troupes with wildly different approaches to improv, and they delivered on their promises of unexpected, unscripted, unrepeatable—and unbelievably funny—long-form performances. It was a true delight!
