This photo was taken from Riverview Cemetery in Martins Ferry yesterday by a visitor of the museum, Jon Edwards.
Jon and family members are spending time tracing steps their ancestors took 125 years ago.
We had such a nice visit.
I love that he made sure to include the museum in the shot!

Community Membership Fair
Sunday
1-3
Corner lot on 5th street across from the toy store

🌭We will have free hotdogs and coffee at this event at the Lions table!

We urge all of the community to join us at this event to learn about the wonderful organizations our town has to offer!! These organizations all contribute so much to our town that most don’t even know about. Sadly, most organizations are hitting record lows for membership and participation. Our town would look a lot different should these clubs cease to exist.

Let’s take action together as a community and revive our town!

To name a few:
Martins Ferry Lions Club
Project Forward
Historical Society
Martins Ferry Elks Lodge
Martins Ferry Civics

🦁 We look forward to seeing you all on Sunday, membership information for each group will be available at their tables.

Storytellers Wanted!

Do you know someone who:

~ Witnessed major events that shaped our community
~ Worked at businesses or institutions that defined Martins Ferry
~ Has family stories passed down through generations about the heyday
~ Collected local artifacts, photos, or documents
~ Was involved in pivotal moments in our town's development
~ Can tell stories about the "old days" that younger generations have never heard?

We want to interview them and preserve their incredible knowledge! These are the voices that keep our heritage alive - we need to capture their stories before they're lost.
Tag someone or comment with their name! Help us find the living historians in our midst.
You are welcome to privately message this page as well.
