I was going through Oretha Ruetti articles. Some from her book and others not published. This is one not published. This article is dated May 25, 2002.

This article talks about the Memorial Day program books that are handed out by The American Legion #163, Marysville KS. This year Memorial Day Services are Monday May 26, 2025. Marysville City Cemetery 10 am Musical Tribute and then 10:30 AM Ceremony.

Thank you OneMarysville and all the businesses that participated in the "Kick-Off To Summer Block Party" Last night our meeting room was full of adults and kids ready to paint tiles. 27 tiles were done plus many came and took them home to do.
If you took one home, please have it back at the OneMarysville office by June 1st. Unveiling of the mural will be at the Pony Park, July 4th at 6pm.

The Historic Courthouse is a Blue Star Museum which are museums nationwide that provide free admission to currently serving US military personnel and their families from May 16th through September 7th. We thank you for your service.

In 1941, Ada and her husband, Ted, started an apron factory in the back of their dry goods store in Frankfort. Their business grew quickly and they expanded to the adjacent building.

Ada had a flair for designing using organdy and trimmings. The aprons were not made on an assembly line. Each sewer completed her apron. “Aprons By Trump” were sold in large department stores.

In 1961, the Trumps sold the apron business to David Peart and the equipment was moved to Blue Rapids. He operated it for a short time until it was sold to a man from California. The Trump factory provided employment for local women while it operated.
