The Thomas Warne Museum

The Thomas Warne Museum Home of The Madison-Old Bridge Township Historical Society Monday through Friday, by appointment. Open Saturday/Sunday 12pm-4pm.

In October of 1964 a group of pioneering residents of Madison (now Old Bridge Township) Township got together and with a vision and their own collections of artifacts, research and memories created the Madison-Old Bridge Township Historical Society and Thomas Warne Museum.

Our memorial service today at Cheesequake Methodist Cemetery on Rt 34. We honor David Lambertson our resident patriot of the American Revolution. Revolution NJ 250 service was assisted by ROTC Color Guard and the OB auxiliary police officers. Flowers were presented by his great, great, great, great great granddaughter Dorothy Hauser. Thanks to Christine from the East Brunswick Museum for supporting our organization.

This letter to the editor was written by our late curator Alvia Martin of the Thomas Warne Museum way back in 1976. She reviews the life of President James Madison. As you can see she was opposed to the name change to Old Bridge Township as that was the position of the society at that time. As we approach Americas 250 Birthday, let us celebrate our former president who left a legacy of accomplishment for our great nation.
