The Paradox of Sight
Neeta Mehta/ Panchasara
Acrylic on canvas

About This Piece
An iris filled with Earth’s sacred elements—ocean blues and golden soils—stares directly at us, while a vulnerable sapling pushes through its center seeking life. This is the paradox we live: we have eyes that see everything, yet we perceive nothing. We witness climate change, deforestation, pollution, and the slow death of our Sacred Earth daily. We talk about it, share it, discuss it endlessly. But true sight requires more than observation—it demands recognition, responsibility, and action. This eye represents our collective consciousness: fully equipped to see, yet somehow choosing blindness. The delicate cherry blossom and struggling sapling ask us: How long will we watch before we truly see? How much evidence do we need before sight transforms into action? The greatest paradox is not that we lack information about Earth’s crisis—it’s that we see it clearly and still do nothing.

Ai
Nico Bleu
Acrylic on canvas

About This Piece
Ai represents the theme, by showing how Ai affects air and water on earth. The angel wearing the gas mask not only represents divine protection of earth, but also protection from Ai air pollution caused by data centers. The faint crack in earth along with the one drop of water falling near the Ai hand, and the two smaller drops symbolize water scarcity- Recent studies suggest Ai water usage to be between 312 to 765 billion liters just in 2025 alone.

When They Come
Christopher Green
Acrylic and pencils on canvas

About This Piece
This entry is a twist on the theme. Our planet is rich with diversity in people, animals , resources and landscapes. The idea of the painting is to show how attractive our home is to our galactic relatives in far off places. The idea was to show these “visitors” coming to our planet for all it has to offer and picking up some souvenirs along the way. I’ve always been intrigued by those stories of the unknown. I hope this piece gives a different perspective to how other life in amongst the stars may also find our planet as a must see destination with abundance and we see our home the same way.

About the Artist
I’m an amateur artist here in Charlotte. I’ve always drawn as it’s been a natural talent of mine. I started painting and developing that practice in 2019. I primarily use acrylics and pencils along with spray paints. Anything really to create the desired affects. It’s all experimental as most art is to a degree. My goal this year is to put my work out there and but and build relationships within the local creative community while I develop my craft. I’ve been fortunate to have work displayed at two events for non-profit QC Family tree and all at the Hartz Witzen Gallery, Gallery House Charlotte, and a joint show for VAPA centers tenant take over last month. I’ve had the privilege to work along side local artist to assist with murals and others works for Charlotte shout and larger projects. I hope to continue my exposure in the local artist community and developing my art.

About This Piece
Grasshopper represents taking a leap of faith, finding our voice, trusting our inner strength, and embracing change--allowing us to move past obstacles and connect with our inner wisdom.

About the Artist
Michele Renee Pratt
Photographer
Grower
After years of non-profit social justice and community development work in the San Francisco Bay Area, I transitioned those efforts to farming in community for the last twenty years, from Vashon Island, WA to Phoenix, AZ and Charlotte, NC, as well as many points in between. My heart’s calling is to feed others, share how to grow food, create natural medicine, and provide stewardship of the land and all the critters we depend on–connecting many with the beauty, magic and sacredness of Nature and all its gifts. My garden is a much needed sanctuary for them all to thrive.
I have a Masters in Visual Art for Social Change and have always been a visual person–hyper aware of the beauty around me, ever attempting to connect and bear witness, giving homage to the sacredness of life in each moment. Photography is my way of holding dear those precious moments and sharing the joy, so that others can be transformed by the spiritual connection they bring.

The Quiet Healing
Lakshmi Sujana Desu
Acrylic

About This Piece
The Quiet Healing reflects my belief that the Earth is a living presence capable of renewal when met with care, patience, and restraint. Rather than focusing on rupture or loss, this work explores the subtle, often unseen processes through which balance can return.
Layered earth tones, deep blues and greens, and traces of luminous gold evoke land, memory, and the energies held beneath the surface. A delicate golden line runs through the composition, inspired by the practice of kintsugi, where broken forms are repaired with gold. Here, the line represents restoration rather than damage — honoring history while allowing space for healing.
This piece speaks to a quieter form of stewardship. It suggests that healing does not always require dramatic action, but can emerge through listening, respect, and intentional care. The Quiet Healing invites reflection on renewal as a sacred, ongoing process shaped by attention, humility, and hope.

About This Piece
This piece captures the intricacies of nature, like an aerial shot of a landscape, the veins like highways and roads, leading to the beach-like edge, all within a simple leaf. It stands to remind us how complex all life is, that we don't have to travel to find beautify in nature, that it is right outside our doors if only we look for it.

Over the Marsh
Sarah Jackson
Oil on canvas

About This Piece
Inspired by the isolated and untouched Mozambican landscape that defined my childhood, Over the Marsh aims to portray the changes of earth as a living being. The use of layered paint, drips, a blurred horizon, and reflection create a sense of movement and energy to capture the complex beauty of our planet.

About the Artist
Sarah Jackson is a landscape painter based in Charlotte, North Carolina. Originally from Johannesburg, South Africa, she moved to the United States in 2018, bringing with her a rich artistic perspective shaped by diverse landscapes and cultural experiences. Sarah's work is deeply influenced by the natural beauty around us and the striking contrasts between her South African roots and her life in America. Inspired by the landscapes in her everyday life, from her travels and from her past, she primarily works with oil on canvas and creates large-scale paintings that envelop the viewer. Her paintings explore the beauty of our landscapes in an effort to capture, and nurture, the deep love and connection we all have to our surroundings.
