Born in Kansas and raised in New Mexico," the rolling hills and when the sunflowers come out, the fields are green and yellow. Along with wheat fields with their golden waves" and "walking in the mountains during the morning and at sunset looking at the stars and the moon, those rich colors". You can not get any better than that. Well, need to talk to my wife about that.

Born in North Carolina (my wife) has the blue ridge and what I call hills. They come to you with a calling, just don't stand there paint me! The different color of blues than they change to greens. Then you have the coast browns, blues, greens, and golds, what else do you need.

Those colors, shapes, movements, touch, taste, and smell are in our heads from those three states and others we go through and they mix in our minds. We try to use them in our paintings. What I try to see is if I am at the bottom of a well the sky seems to be small when I look up. Why would I be at the bottom of a well? OK, try this one. Looking through a keyhole from the inside to the outside, you do not see must. Alright, you can not look through today's keyholes. Just saying it is a big world out there and next time really look and see it, with the eyes of an artist.
