This week, instead of shooting black and white film with different vintage cameras, we will be using vintage prime lenses on a modern mirrorless camera. Today it is this Pentax Super Takumar 50mm f 1.4. We can do this by using a $20 adaptor we got on Amazon. The Fotasy M42 Screw mount to Fuji-X adaptor is simple to use and very robust.

I have a roll of 828 Kentmere 100 in this Kodak Bantam Special camera from 1936 in cool Art Deco design by Walter Dorwin Teague.
This was a very high end camera at the time. In today’s money, is would cost around $3000

Using the Mercury II half frame this week. I thought y’all might like to see the back of this thing. Looks complicated but with a little understanding it works like a charm for exposure and depth of field.

About an hour ago Dr Fallas from Fallas Vision in McDonough stoped by the museum with a small problem with the back on his Nikon F. His lock mechanism that holds the back in place had a small bent part. I repaired it with a pair of needle nose pliers.
This made me want to put some film in my Nikon F with a 105mm that we will be using in an exhibit featuring a photojournalist. Film is Arista 400 EDU black and white.

Today we are getting a little time in with this Univex Mercury II from 1945. This is a 35 mm half frame camera that will get you about 70 photos per roll of 36 exp film. I have a test roll of Arista EDU black and white that we bulk load into reusable cassettes. Problem is, I can’t remember how much film I put in the cassette. So I will just shoot until I can’t shoot anymore.

If you happen to pick up a Kodak Signet and the shutter seems to be jammed, it might just be because there is no film in it. The shutter will not c**k unless moving film turns a sprocket wheel inside the film chamber.

Kodak Signet from 1951. Loaded with Aritsa black and white.
