Goodbye summer break and hello September classes.
The students experimented with leaf impressions on flour sack towels using acrylic paints. They were encouraged to think about color, design and imagination. I think they did a great job!

This was our last class for the school year. Our project was a combination of making fish prints (gayotaku), cutting them and glueing them (collage), then painting a watercolor background and combining all the parts (mixed media art).
These very busy students did an excellent job of following all directions and completing these works of art in an hour. It was such a fun class!

Both the “littles” class who painted in watercolors and the “bigs” class who painted with acrylics on a black background, turned out some very impressive daffodil art. I hope you enjoy them!

Today was a fun day painting portraits of the a student sitting next to another student. They each took turns drawing their subject for about ten minutes and then they switched. Then they all painted their work with watercolor paints. I think you’ll like the paintings!

Today the students worked with clay, after showing them some helpful hints and a few examples. Here is a little demonstration of how to make a pinch pot.

Here are some beautiful abstract paintings full of color and texture. The art students experimented with painters tape, paint, textures, layerings and stamps. More importantly they used their brains and figured things out, getting lost in the process of creating something very unique.
