Are you ready to walk among thousands of years of history? Join the Meeteetse Museums on June 13th for an exclusive tour of the Legend Rock State Petroglyph Site alongside Dr. Julie Francis. Legend Rock features a spectacular, 1,312-foot near-vertical cliff that is home to more than 92 petroglyph panels and over 300 ancient figures. Seeing this sacred and historic site is an unforgettable experience on its own, but exploring it with Dr. Francis's expert interpretation makes it truly unmatched.

Due to limited space on the trail that winds along Legend Rock, we are limiting tours to 10 people per tour. The first tour kicks off at 9:30 AM and the second begins at 11:00 AM. Public registration is open, and spaces are filling up. You can secure your spot right now by calling the museum at 307-868-2423 or by stopping by to sign up in person. Just a quick heads up for your weekend planning: Legend Rock is located about 40 miles south of Meeteetse, so participants will need to provide their own transportation to the site.

You only have a few days left to see the Wyoming History Through Listeners’ Eyes exhibit at the museum!

Make sure to stop in and see local highlights like “Florence W. Roginson,” submitted by Becky Brock. Brock’s photo, taken in 1919 at the Jake and Carrie Webster ranch, shows Brock’s grandmother dressed in cowboy gear sitting on a fence. Florence Roginson was a school teacher in the Meeteetse area!

Come see this photo and the others in the main building before the exhibit leaves on May 29th!

The snow is (mostly) gone, the birds are back, and our America 250 Wish Wall is officially starting to grow! Spring is the perfect time to think about "growth"—not just in our gardens, but for our country and our state.

We want to give you the floor to talk about the future. We’ve set up two dedicated spaces for your thoughts:

What is your big-picture wish for the United States as we approach our 250th birthday?

What do you hope to see for the future of the Cowboy State?

Whether you’re wishing for more community collaboration, permanent protection for our wild spaces, or no change at all, your sticky note is a vital piece of the puzzle. We’re keeping every wish for posterity–stay tuned for more information!
The Meeteetse Museums’ Wish Wall is made possible by a grant from the Colorado-Wyoming Association of Museums.
