Only a couple more weeks to see local naturalist/mycologist and MendoParks volunteer Mario Abreu's amazing fresh mushroom display! He comes in to the Ford House every week to refresh the mushrooms with new ones he's gathered - an intensive commitment we're grateful to have as part of our Ford House Visitor Center offerings! Thank you Mario for your hard work!

It's a beautiful weekend to head out to your favorite S.P. Make a picnic lunch with your Easter eggs, grab a frisbee, a blanket and your fur baby.
Please remember that spring is the time for new life. Please help protect our parks and wildlife by leaving no trace behind. It's a wonderful time to enjoy beautiful blooms, vibrant colors, the cool crisp air, and of course our coastal wildlife babies! Grab your binoculars for your hike, and if you are lucky, you will see seal pups, whales, deer, turkey and foxes. These are just a few of the treasures you will find on the beautiful Mendo coast. Please remember to keep your distance from all of our forest and ocean friends for your safety and theirs, so that we may ensure our future generations can enjoy these wonders and beauty of nature as well.

Join MendoParks for Earth Day, every year on April 22nd!

Earth Day is an annual event on April 22 to demonstrate support for environmental protection. First held on April 22, 1970, it now includes a wide range of events coordinated globally by EarthDay.org including 1 billion people in more than 193 countries. The official theme for 2022 is Invest In Our Planet.

MENDOCINO MERMAIDS AND MENDOPARKS PARTNER FOR EARTH DAY 2022:
A PARK PRESCRIPTION AT THE MENDOCINO HEADLANDS
Join MendoParks and the Mendocino Mermaids a "Park Prescription" Earth Day celebration at the Mendocino Headlands State Park, featuring an open-air paint class led by Mermaid Sierra, face painting booth, Ayurveda talk and breathing class, dance party, and park clean up!

When: 1:00 to 4:00 pm, Friday April 22nd

Where: Meet at the Ford House Visitor Center and Museum (45035 Main St, Mendocino)

What: Open-air paint class, Ayurveda talk and breathing class, dance party, and park clean-up!
