A recent pet portrait I made of someone's kitty. It's fun watching them come to life on the paper, and then being like, hey, I did that!

It was a lovely spring-to-summer day, reminiscent of My Neighbor Totoro, so I spent some time creating watercolor studies while enjoying the film. Every now and then, when enough time passes, I get the urge to sit down and watch a Studio Ghibli movie.

I am 28 today. ☀️

Last year, I did something my childhood self only dreamed of—I went to Japan. Wandering through shrines, quiet forests, and bustling streets was nothing short of inspirational magic.

This year, I’m tuning in, listening closer to myself, creating things that nourish me, and saying yes to the joy of simply being alive.

I’m so thankful to be here—to keep growing, exploring, and sharing this life with the people around me. 🫶🏼

I feel so grateful for the recent rain. The air is crisp and fresh, and the clouds have been breathtaking. These photos are from a sunset I enjoyed at work a couple of nights ago, and one of the moon at the beginning of the lunar eclipse (I did not stay up to see the totality). I hope you all enjoy the photos. They are too beautiful not to share. 🌄

Our last day in Japan was spent in Tokyo. We visited the Kyū-Shiba-Rikyū Gardens, one of the oldest gardens owned by a feudal lord. It was once connected to the sea, and the garden's water would rise and fall with the tide. They recently celebrated their 100th anniversary as a public garden. One of my favorite things about Japan is the many green spaces integrated within their cities. I wish the United States would catch up on the vital connection between people and nature.

POKÉMON × KOGEI
Playful Encounters of Pokémon and Japanese Craft

These are my favorite works in the exhibition. Water-type Pokémon are some of my favorites, and these wares do them justice with their design and brilliant cobalt blue.
