Hugo Zapata calls upon the materials of our natural world to create sculpted forms that both recall the forms of our shared environment. Simple shapes and reduced colors make his works universally tantalizing, and the streamlined nature of his work makes it truly timeless.

“Every destiny is a model of concentric circles…Every journey you make is a journey from within and every destiny, at the end, is to arrive at yourself.” ~ Lina Sinisterra

“Every object has an inside; from the beginning of my work as an artist, my endeavor has been to investigate that inner space. For many years I insisted almost obsessively on using orthogonal forms, right angles, as my point of departure being that straight lines do not exist in nature. I was intrigued by the contrast of the curvaceous versus the straight, the natural as opposed to the purely rational, and, convinced of the enormous formal possibilities I could find there, my quest moved in that direction.” ~ Ronny Vayda

“My greatest weapon in life is to embrace the unknown. My mission above all is knowing myself and to share my work with people. My admiration for nature gives me infinite energy and my nature helps me to hold on to life with joy. As I have always said, everything is the result of a choice we make. And I chose to be happy” ~ Yigit Yazici

Roberto Milan’s sculptures evoke ancestral energy – the potentiality of fire, the essence of cosmic energies; and for him, the all important wood elements are a symbol of man and earth. Roberto Milan expresses these ideas in an abstract approach with a formal elegance and essential linearity. Often, he combines the wood constructions with hand-blown glass from Murano and fusions of bronze or elements made of iron.

“I am as affected by the frog I saw yesterday, sitting on the lit globe of my outside light, as I am by the distant memories of a gray hut I once saw in China, or a blue mosaic tile I saw years ago when I lived in Jerusalem.” ~ Andrea Dasha Reich

“My vision is very similar to that of a photographic zoom or a film camera. It transits between the general and the particular, between the domestic and the urban, between nature and the geometry of things, without logical chronology or continuation. Sometimes, an almost meticulous approach to objects and subjects is unleashed and portraits of people or things appear. Other times, the lens opens and I stop to reflect upon the architecture that encloses and envelops these elements and subjects to relate to each other. My work is a constant investigation of the living space where my life happens.” ~ Juan Raul Hoyos

In the creative process, Claudia applies her skill and clarity to the definition of the sculptural language. She transmits her ability to see beyond appearances through the diversity of her formal creations; constructing forms by building, weaving and assembling the different elements which she later wraps and unwraps in a playful definition of her sculptural aesthetics but, always within an essential modular format.

“When the sun shines on shallow ponds, it illuminates detail in colors and shapes. You can imagine the microscopic world under the surface: a drama of teeming life and abundance of biodiversity within the pond ecosystem. What we cannot see is what is really important.” ~ Betsy Stewart
