BTS of our recent trip to studio in anticipation of her upcoming solo exhibition Decisive Moments, opening next Saturday at Gross McCleaf Gallery as a part of our Outside the Box Program. Swipe to bits of Quinn’s process: reflections on this collection, the sentimental locations where she created her charcoal rubbings, photos of family, floor plans, and more of the inner mind map that brought this exhibition to life.

Quinn’s abstract paintings incorporate charcoal rubbings taken from sites of deep significance, including streets where her father lived, sidewalks in neighborhoods tied to formative memories, and surfaces that have quietly witnessed the passage of time. These rubbings are cut into strips and collaged alongside painted and drawn elements that she also fragments and reconstructs in the studio. Through this process, painting, drawing, and texture converge into layered works that hold both physical and emotional resonance.

Thank you to and for naming Stanek Gallery among the 10 Artist-Run Galleries Around the World You Should Know! 🌟🙏

Artist-run at our core, Stanek Gallery was founded by sculptor Katherine Stanek in 2015 out of a commitment to bringing authenticity to the gallery world. Built on a foundation rooted in addressing the art world’s most pressing challenges, we have never shied away from finding innovative solutions. COVID was far from our first obstacle, and like those before it, we met it with creativity and resilience. Our Master Artist Series stands as a testament to that spirit, connecting our audience with the renowned artists on our roster, such as James Brantley, and illuminating the profound impact they have had on their communities and on the artists they continue to inspire.

Every decision we make centers our artists, fostering meaningful relationships within every exhibition and connecting collectors with the work that truly moves them.

🌟 CLOSING WEEKEND 🌟

Cloud Gazing
A solo exhibition of work by Nicole Michaud
April 18 - May 30 2026

Location: Gross McCleaf Gallery
📍123 Leverington Ave, Philadelphia
Open Friday and Saturday from 11am - 4pm

Stanek Gallery presents Cloud Gazing, a solo exhibition of new paintings by Nicole Michaud. Working on mylar and canvas, Michaud has developed an intuitive process in which oil paint is layered, lifted, and reworked until atmospheric images gradually emerge, balancing intention and chance.

Inspired by dreams, travel, and photographs, Michaud’s paintings do not depict specific places but arise from an internal landscape shaped by memory and imagination. Forms reminiscent of landscapes, clouds, animals, flowers, or figures appear briefly before dissolving within shifting color and light.

Often modest in scale, the works reward slow looking as images surface and recede over time. A wall of small, unframed mylar works highlights the material’s delicate translucency and invites collectors to create custom framing arrangements.

Cloud Gazing is presented at Gross McCleaf Gallery as part of Stanek Gallery’s Outside the Box collaborative exhibition program. Don’t miss your chance to view this beautiful collection before the show closes this Saturday, May 30th. Contact us to schedule a private viewing appointment.

“The West” by , on display in The Calling until July 11th at our Miami showroom.

This piece continues DiFronzo’s investigation of the American landscape, but here it takes on a more psychological dimension. Familiar elements such as roadside structures and railcars appear as markers of human presence and the desire to leave something behind.

These gestures of graffiti on a temporary structure speak to a universal impulse to be seen, remembered, and understood.

Visit “The West” in person this week or take a deeper look online via Artsy, 🔗 in bio.

Our viewing room, located at the back of the gallery, is an intimate space dedicated to a rotating selection of works and carefully curated pieces from our inventory. For this exhibition, we have partnered with our neighbors to transform the space into a living vignette that reflects how art can exist naturally within the home. 🌿

This installation explores the relationship between art and design as a unified experience rather than separate elements. Each work is placed in dialogue with furniture, materials, and scale to demonstrate how a space can be shaped through thoughtful integration. The goal is not simply to present individual objects, but to offer a clear vision of how living with art can feel: intentional, immersive, and deeply connected to daily life.

This display will remain alongside The Calling until July 11th. Visit it this weekend to get some inspiration for your home gallery.

🌟 EXHIBITION ANNOUNCEMENT 🌟

Decisive Moments
A solo exhibition of work by Donna Quinn
June 6 - July 18, 2026

Opening Reception and Artist Talk
Saturday, June 6th
1pm - 4pm

Location: Gross McCleaf Gallery
123 Leverington Ave, Philadelphia, PA

Stanek Gallery is proud to present Decisive Moments, a solo exhibition of new work by Donna Quinn. Quinn’s compositions are an open love letter to place and memory, drawing from specific objects, locations, and experiences from her own life and her family’s past. Rooted in internal examination and perspective, Quinn’s practice explores the tangible traces of the past that affirm we were here and considers what that presence means within the arc of personal and familial history.

Decisive Moments is presented at Gross McCleaf Gallery as part of Stanek Gallery’s Outside the Box collaborative exhibition program. Don’t miss your chance to meet Donna and hear more about her process during her artist talk on June 6th. No RSVP required.
