Sábado 10 de febrero. 3:00 p.m.

“Emotionally Charged” es una exposición que abarca los diez últimos años de producción de la artista dominicano-americana Rosario Rivera-Bond. Conformada por 22 obras que incluyen la gran instalación colgante de la serie Too Good to Fail —emplazada en el hermoso tragaluz de la sala principal del Miami International Fine Arts—, la exhibición da cuenta de un período decisivo en la trayectoria de la artista.
La práctica de Rivera-Bond aborda los desafíos de la creación actual desde el automatismo, y se sostiene en libres asociaciones y en una tensión entre lo abstracto y lo representativo, términos que se hacen insuficientes para describir un trabajo que atañe a lo emocional y lo memorioso.
La visita guiada estará a cargo de la curadora de la muestra, Katherine Chacón, y contará con la presencia de la artista, quien además estará firmando ejemplares de su más reciente libro My Life in Color.
Se ofrecerá un brindis a los asistentes.

La muestra “Emotionally Charged” de Rosario Rivera-Bond permanecerá abierta al público hasta el 28 de febrero de 2024 en los espacios del Miami International Fine Arts, MIFA, 5900 NW 74th Ave, Miami, FL 33166.

It was an honor to design and serve as the editorial coordinator for the book of the artist Rosario Rivera-Bond, whom I admire for her abstract expression and human qualities. I've had the pleasure of knowing her and working together for fifteen years, allowing me to witness her transformative processes and evolution. Creating this book was a joy that I relished. The joy of creating it surpassed the stress and sense of responsibility that a project of this magnitude carries.
