The Kowal+Odermatt artist-in-residency program invites exceptional emerging and recognized artists from all over the world to live, work and exhibit in Miami’s iconic Wynwood Art District. The program encourages artists to create cutting-edge, top quality works that highlight their personal process and creativity while giving them grounds to explore new ideas. Artists are invited to fully embrace

living and working in the Wynwood Arts District, an area that has gained international recognition over the past ten years. Ultimately, the Kowal+Odermatt artist in residency program gives their artists the tools and support to flourish within the local network of artists, collectors, gallerists, curators, art professionals and art lovers. The core of the Kowal+Odermatt mission encompasses 3 C’s: Collecting, Connecting and Curating. It is through collecting that the residency provides an intimate introduction for an array of top-tier artists to the community, with whom they have the opportunity to develop relationships with and add works to important art collections. Through connecting, they utilize their unique hybrid nature to collaborate with collectors, art galleries and art professional to establish trusted links and give resident artists credibility and exposure. Through curating, Kowal+Odermatt juxtaposes innovative pieces by globally renowned artists in a cutting-edge Miami-based environment. The Kowal+Odermatt artist in residency program serves as a vehicle for bringing outstanding international artists to create and exhibit exciting new works for the Miami art community.
