This extraordinary oil on canvas—“Shadow” (1958)—is the oldest known work by today’s Master Artist Antonio Domínguez de Haro, a visionary whose underwater works have captivated collectors around the globe.

What makes this piece truly rare is not only its place in history…
but how it was born.

In 1958, De Haro submerged himself several meters underwater at dusk, chasing the last rays of the setting sun as they pierced the sea. In those fleeting seconds, the light transformed the cave entrance into a mysterious, glowing portal—illuminating the flora and fauna rushing past him.

That unforgettable moment became this canvas.
A breath held underwater… translated into oil and shadow.

✨ Notice the vibrant strokes of blue, red, and pink?
The artist used a spatula technique to capture the motion of fish darting through the water—like sparks of life escaping into the darkness of the cave.
