“Colour is my day-long obsession, joy and torment.” — Claude Monet

This quote resonates with me deeply. I’ve always been drawn to color, and sometimes to the absence of it. I’m constantly photographing the colors, surfaces, and textures I notice around me, especially when I’m traveling.

Those small observations often find their way back into the studio, becoming part of the work in ways both subtle and direct.

Color has been a major source of inspiration for the collection of pieces in my upcoming solo exhibition at Morton Contemporary. I’d love for you to join me at the opening on June 6th in Philadelphia.

I’m so honored to be a part of “We’re Very Well Read” curated by at the Mural Conservancy of Los Angeles, which opened this last Saturday, May 23! The inspiration for the exhibit was to celebrate books and I immediately thought of “Siddhartha.”

I do hope that you go visit this incredible exhibit with art by more than 450 contemporary artists!

I love painting large format abstract pieces. It allows me to really put my whole body into creating layers and layers of expressive, gestural mark-making and really pour my energy and emotion onto the canvas. 🎨💕
