All right who can solve this puzzle I found in “The Chat Book” ( similar to a yearbook) I found from the MHS Class of 1898 to the Board of Education of the City of Middlesborough, Ky.? The school was located across the street from our Museum at this time.

My condolences goes out to the family and many friends of Mrs Edith Asher along with the Kentucky Mountain Laurel Festival and the community of the City of Pineville that is in mourning.

Edith was such a wonderful person and I am very honored to have met her and interviewed her for this past year’s KMLF.. Edith was such an iconic lady. She was full of tradition and boldness. I’m so happy to have known her.

This photo was taken at Edith’s house when I interviewed her for the KMLF. She was a fabric of the festival. She was looking at past KMLF programs that I got copies of from the Bell County Historical Society and Museum and showing me which ones she hand typed and telling me stories about her time at the festival.

I went and visited Edith at the Pineville Community Health Center to take her a copy of the KMLF special that featured her and Mrs RoseMary Combs. We talked about what Heaven was going to be like and I told her when I think of Heaven, when it’s time for a believer to come home, it is a lot like the KMLF. Everyone in Heaven is rushing and trying to have everything perfect for the homecoming. There are probably committees in Heaven that pulls it altogether for their special moment to enter the Kingdom.

Everyone that knows Edith, knows that she is probably in Heaven now leading a committee or doing a job to make sure the next believer that enters the Kingdom knows they made it home.

We learned so much today. This business is such an integral part of our community, history, and economy! Proud to know that products made in Middlesboro are all over our nation. I loved the more historical products they produce and the traditional methods they still use. They are also smoothly assimilating those tried and true forms of production with new technologies to make a truly innovative and superior line of products.

I need help. The museum was given a baseball ( The Appalachian League is on the ball) and has the signatures of a whole team. The problem is it is either the Senators or the Cub Sox’s. I was told I could tell by comparing the players names with team rosters. It was signed after a game in Middlesboro. How do I find team rosters? I have been looking!
