Sunny Daze By Melanie Sherron

Sunny Daze By Melanie Sherron My art, my creations, my Sunny Daze. At Sunny Daze, my goal is to lighten the heart and put a smile on every person who experiences my works.

Welcome to Sunny Daze where you will see furniture and other creations ranging from the pleasantly unusual and original to the far side of Dr. Seuss and beyond. My creations focus mainly on furniture ranging from the smallest: such as decorative boxes and candlesticks; to medium size: lamps, coat trees and sofa tables; to the largest: trunks, coffee tables and grandfather clocks (not your grandf

ather's grandfather clocks). My medium is primarily wood but I am not limited and work with metal, glass , plastic, play dough, anything! (maybe not play dough). I do commissioned pieces as well. Show me the space, the colors and the environment and together, we can create wonderful works of art-any piece of furniture you can imagine, and more. Come see the creations by appointment, or view select pieces on display at the Pendleton Art Center (1105 Central Ave., Middletown, OH 45042) any first Friday of the month or the following Saturday.

I present this clock to Stephen Ashcraft, the creator and designer of The New Life Transformation Program, as a token of my great appreciation. This program changed me forever. I feed my body, my temple, the way GOD intended it to be fed. I move the way GOD intended me to move. I “Eat to Live,” rather than “Live to Eat.” I give good gifts to my Temple.

PERFECTLY FLAWED

The wood, in base of the clock, is aged. The test of time and the environment have made it strong and sturdy, able to withstand and hold the weight of all the other components. It is perfectly measured and formed by its Creator.

The 7 logs represent the 7 concepts of Transformation;
1. Unlimited Potential
2. Giving and Receiving
3. Cause and Effect
4. Least Effort
5. Attention Intention and Desire
6. Detachment
7. Purpose.

The rings in the logs represent years of our lives. Each log is different in shape and size, just as we all are different. Some are bigger than others meaning more years of maturity. The logs are also marred and cracked just like us.

The transparent sides are sturdy and strong; meaning our transparency with GOD and others will heal our marred, cracked souls.

The opening from front to back means we are to be open vessels for GOD, in order that we may bless others. As we are healed, from the inside out, our Creator will move freely through us to touch others who have many of the same scars and wounds.

The clock represents the time. It takes time to heal from the damage we have caused. It's an ongoing Transformation every second, minute, hour, day, week, and year, which builds a lifetime of Transformation. Transformation never ends, just as time never ends.

Nothing is perfect about this clock. Everything is irregular and flawed just as we are all irregular and flawed.

However marred and cracked we are, we are still beautiful creations of GOD. When pride is set aside, we can be open and honest with others, let them see our imperfections and be a beautiful display of GOD’s Transforming process.

Many materials were used for the clock, all the way from tools to glue, screws, wood, metal, plexiglass etc., just as we are all different but all make up of the one Body of CHRIST.

The clock was built from bottom to top meaning we are all being built up in HIM.

Although we are imperfect people, we all still have a purpose in life; to be a display of HIS splendor and bring HIM praise.

After all; Do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from GOD? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor GOD with your body brothers and sisters. In view of GOD’s mercy, offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to GOD—this is your true and proper worship. So, whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of GOD (I Corinthians 6: 19-20), (Romans 12:1), (I Corinthians 10:31).

Are you giving goods gifts to the Temple? Are you feeding the Temple of the Holy Spirit in a way that is pleasing to GOD, your Creator?

My latest project. My daughter wanted a unique head board for her cowgirl room that reflected her love for rodeo. It's my first of the western style but I'm glad she loves it!

A whimsical twist on a timeless tradition! This was my latest project.
