Prepare Your Home 🔥

While the calendar says April 1st, wildfires don’t play games. Now is the perfect time to take practical steps that can help protect your property and family.

Start by clearing flammable vegetation and debris within 5 feet of your house, trimming tree limbs away from your roof and walls, and moving woodpiles, propane tanks, and other combustibles farther away. Clean your gutters and roof of pine needles and leaves too.

Need tools to get the job done? The Lake County Fire Safe Council’s Mobile Tool Cache program offers free equipment loans to help residents with defensible space work.

A little effort now can make a big difference later. No April Fools pranks — just smart preparation.

🦅 Eagle and Moon 🌕 Early this morning, I stood on my deck steadying my telephoto lens on the waning gibbous full moon. As it was setting on the horizon, a Bald Eagle soared across the shot toward the coming dawn.

What an incredible reminder that Wonder is all around us!
